The least expectation is professional service. They are not woriking probably if you dont have connections with staff thats works theirs you will spend the whole day there.
Its sad that there a few good public servants who genuinely want to assist you but, like so many other government offices, there are more bad apples than good here. Well done to those who take their job seriously and are kind enough to assist us paying citizens who are forced to make use of the service. Tried phoning to get some info, and nobody answers, just ring, absolutely useless, why bother having phone line, sort yourselves out Durban licence department, unacceptable shocking service.
Worst experienceThe security at the gates come across as they are doing you a favor. No one is helpful. Extremely slow service Friendly and helpful receptionist. Also the same for the staff at the enquiries desks. All the various departments, I have delt with in the past year,it was a please as the staff is friendly. It was a very poor communication. Initially it was such a wonderful service from both the ladies i met at enquiry and at the registration counter only when i had to come back the second time the two indian ladies one at the enquiries and the second one at registration desk were so rude the one at the registration desk even threw the form when giving it back,we are also professionals and we respect our clients whwre we work irrespective of nationality if something is wrong you explain in a manner if you are a true professional, this is rediculous.
Surprisingly quick and efficient experience. Do a little research before you go to check what you need to take with you. They do have card machines. This has got to be the most unhelpful department , I wish I never have to deal with them ever but thats not possible. I hope that someone senior in this department can see to it that people employed there are actually doing there jobs.
They are wasting our hard earned money by not performing. Come on guys get with the program. The most horrible experience ever. When asking the security if poor service was part of the Bathu Pele principles, he replied,yes Goble road licsng office is the most unprofessional incompetent place i had to ever deal with.
To call in enquiries is virtually impossible they take forever to answer. Why have an enquiry line if they dont bother to answer. Pathetic service. One of the most efficient licensing places Ive been to. Staff are very friendly and helpful if you have questions. Horrible experience. Besides the long wait the lady who helped me was rude and said that i dont have common sense and took off with me for not knowing proper process.
Its not something we do everyday. If they answered there phones we would know how to prepare ourselves. This is on the 3rd visit after them being offline did i get my stuff sorted. Also 3 days short pay for me due to this pathetic place. I dont think the people that work at any Government institute know that if you are calling from your cellphone, immediately once the automated answering operator starts talking you are being charged airtime. We know that you are busy, but taking the time to answer a phone call too is part of that duty.
I went to put my new car in my name on Wednesday and there was a bit of a mix up when it was processed, Sbongile Ndlovu was so amazing, she apologised profusely about the situation and ensured me it was being handled. She then after a bit of a wait called me into the back office and gave me her personal number, again apologising for the mix up and explained that it was taking longer than expected to correct. She offered for me to go home and to get the driver to deliver my new logbook to my house the next day at no cost.
Stay away and go if only necessary. Bunch of incompetent people working here.
