As we map out our tactics and techniques, both our defense and the prosecution lawyers are prepared to begin our first day. Both of our sides are firing up with questions and very good arguments.
Each of our witnesses has prepared to answer all and any questions anyone may have in order to help find the justice in our case. Then the lawyers will solicit the best witness for their defense. Then, the lawyers with the help of the class will select the 12 best jury members for the trial.
If you decide to tryout as a jury member, then you will play in the part of the selection. There will be over twelve jury members so that the judge, and trial lawyers can select an appropriate jury when the trial takes place. Jury selection will take place very early in this project, so if you are selected as a jury member, be prepared!
From there, you will determine if George Milton is guilty or not guilty of murdering Lennie Small. For those not chosen on the jury, you will become part of the audience viewing the trial in which you will take notes and decide whether the jury made the right decision.
The trial. Everyone will be called to order. Jury and judge will be ready to hear the case. Witnesses will be sworn in. Each side will present their case. The prosecution will go first.
The defense will follow with their arguments. In the end, the jury will decide who has made the best case. During the trial, jury members will keep notes for their deliberation. The rest of the class will take notes, pay attention, and decide whether the jury made the best decision.
