Training program in cancer-related population sciences




















Participants will be matched to a mentor based on their research interest in basic, clinical, and population-based research. Overall, 25 participants will be recruited every year to the program. The overarching focus of our research is to understand the causes and risk factors for cancer and cancer-associated morbidities and to develop effective strategies aimed at their impact specifically for persons living in Houston metropolitan statistical area, Texas.

Program members conduct observational and interventional research on cancer etiology, behavioral interventions, screening and outcomes that has a significant translational impact on clinical or public health practice in the SCI catchment area and beyond.
